What Is It That Defiles Man?

What Is It That Defiles Man?
In  Mark 7 that is where Jesus is talking to the Pharisees and Scribes. He tells them they are worshiping in vain. He says they honor him with their lips but their heart is far from HIM. They follow traditional teaching of doctrines, the way man perceives it. But Jesus makes it clear, what defiles man comes out of heart. Notice the things he mentions: evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness, Jesus shows the things that will defile man always comes from the heart. The good news is all sins are forgiven if we repent, and we have faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ, walking in righteousness.

The Good News!!!

Acts 13:32 “And we preach to you the GOOD NEWS of the promise made to the fathers, 33 that God has fulfilled this promise to our children in that He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, ‘YOU ARE MY SON; TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU.’ 34 As for the fact that He raised Him up from the dead, no longer to return to decay, He has spoken in this way: ‘I WILL GIVE YOU THE HOLY and SURE blessings OF DAVID.’ 35 “Therefore He also says in another Psalm, ‘YOU WILL NOT ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY.’ 36 “For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent decay; 37 but He whom God raised did not undergo decay. 38 “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39 and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses. 40 “Therefore take heed, so that the thing spoken of in the Prophets may not come upon you:

The whole law hangs on the 2 commandments Jesus said.
Matthew 22:
36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the great and first commandment.
39 And a second like `unto it’ is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40 On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.

Can a Saved Man Fall From Grace?

Can a Saved Man Fall From Grace?

The term “fallen from grace” is only used *one time* in the Bible.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; YE ARE FALLEN FROM GRACE” Galatians 5:1-4.

So to be fallen from grace is to be “justified by the law”

In other words, those who attempt to earn their justification by the works of the law are “fallen from grace”.  Today we have Modern Day Pharisees in the church. This comic strip would be funny if it were not true.

Justification was reckoned to us by Christ’s sacrifice at the cross. It is a gift of grace. Those who “work” for justification fail to realize the greatness of what Jesus accomplished, thus his accomplishment becomes of “no effect” to them.  They have fallen from grace! You, therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, 2 Peter 3:17. What happens when one falls from grace? One falls into law observance. One becomes a legalist. Christians lose their grip on grace whenever they fall prey to the teachings of legalism. Legalists robs the Christians of their liberty. Legalists do not live by the Spirit, but by rules and regulations. One is bound to laws and traditions instead of walking by faith in Christ. We are to walk in the Spirit of righteousness! We are to have hearts filled with the fruit of the Spirit.
Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
When we are walking in the Spirit then we have the desire to want to please the Lord. Some believe this liberty is a means to sin but it isn’t.
If we are filled with the fruit of the Spirit our thirst will be for righteousness. We may get tempted but the Lord will never give us more than we can bear.

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.  1 Corinthians 10:13

We all fall short of the glory of God and no one is perfect but we want to do our best to try and please HIM. This comes from our heart because of our Love for HIM! Legalism gives a false sense of security, it chokes the Christ-life out of the believer. It causes us to lack love and cast stones at our bothers and sisters in Christ. When we are trapped in legalism is causes one to become self-righteous not allowing us to see our own sins because we are blind by the BIG LOG in our own eyes. If we have called on the Lord but are also trusting in our good works to get us into Heaven, then we are not truly trusting Christ. We won’t get into Heaven any other way than through the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son. We Must Love HIM and others! Jesus made LOVE  Mandatory.

Matthew 22:37 And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ 38 “This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 “The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ 40 “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

I want to add, faith without works is dead but we are not doing it for justification, we do it because we love the Lord and we love one another! It comes from the heart to help others not because we are working to win our way to heaven. Legalism keeps one bound up in the system of men and men’s expectations as opposed to God.
The Lord does not want his children living in bondage!!!
God Bless Each and Everyone of you!
