Faith

2 Dec

“Now Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 11:1

With full understanding in our heart, nothing in our life will ever be the same. We have to have the kind of faith where we know God has a plan for our life. Even though we may not know what His plan is, we must still trust in Him, by being obedient to what He is telling us to do. This could be anything. He may be telling you to apologize to your mother- in-law about something that may have happened a year ago. He might be telling you to go to India to share the gospel. No matter what it is He wants us to have complete Faith, by being obedient. This, of course, is easier said than done. But when we do step out of our shell and answer “yes” to what He is asking of us, we will experience supernatural results.

“By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:3

“By faith Noah, being warned by God by things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.” Hebrews 11:7

“By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.” Hebrews 11:8

“All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For those who say such things are making it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. And indeed if they have been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.” Hebrews 11:13-16

Jesus, the example

This is why we must set our eyes on Jesus first and foremost. He is the author and perfecter of faith. We must have Christ upon us to be able to walk in this life the way our God has purposed us to. The Holy Spirit must guide us so that others know we serve a different God. We know He is always in us, but we need Him to be upon us. So others can see Him in us. When your co-workers are all stressed out and there is chaos all around you and you are still at peace, they are going to wonder how that is possible. It is the peace we have in Christ. When you show patience, when others find it impossible, this is showing Christ in you. God can make the impossible possible. These things will come easier for us the more we make Jesus priority over all other things in our life. The way, is by being obedient in whatever He is telling our heart to do. Faith without works is dead. “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for He who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 Simple obedience stamped with God’s anointing will do far more than you can imagine. When we come face to face with God and respond in obedience, we will see supernatural results! Amen!

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8
