Why did God use the plurals US and OUR in Genesis 1:26?
And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
I believe it is referring to the unity of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three persons in one divine Being. We refer to the three as the Godhead or Trinity.
We are made in HIS image and we are like little Trinities.
Jesus said the greatest commandment is to LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.
Mark 12:30
The Heart is our spirit compared to Holy Spirit.
The Soul is our breath, body compared with Jesus (body), Son.
The Mind is our thoughts, intelligence compared with God the Father.
Strength is putting them all together ~ God.
We are made in God’s image!
God does not want us to love Him with just “parts” of our being, but rather, with ALL our being!
Lord Jesus Saves
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, all are God in different forms.
An analogy I like to use (steam ~ a gas, water vapor, a cloud), (ice ~ a solid, form) and (water ~ a liquid), yet they are all H2O.
The Father~Cloud
Exodus 13:21
The LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. 22 He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
Matthew 17:1 Six days later Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves. 2 And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light. 3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. 4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” 5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!”
Son~Body
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.
Then go to John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
So we have the Word which is God, then the Word becomes flesh. The flesh is Jesus, the flesh is God, Jesus Is God in the flesh.
The Holy Spirit~“Living Water”
John 7:37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38 “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

The Trinity Explained (with Reason) I thought this was an interesting way to explain the Trinity.
The Bible says God is love. In Matthew 5:44 God tells us to love our enemy, In Matthew 22:39 He tells us to love our neighbor as ourselves. So say you were abused, molested, or raped how should be towards that person? I will tell you man’s way is not the way of God. Man’s way would show hatred and wish the worst on that person for hurting us. But is that how God wants us to be? Nowhere in the bible does God show us these actions are of him. He tells us to have love and compassion, and pray for those who hurt you. The best example is Jesus on the cross praying to God for those who harmed him, asking God to forgive them for they know not what they do. Should we be any different? Allow God and the justice system to handle it. What about people who are gay, of another religious group, or race? Does that give us a right to hate someone because they believe differently or because they are of another color? Not according to the bible, it says to love your enemy. I don’t see where it gives any exceptions. If we are holding hatred in our hearts, it isn’t of God. I believe this world would be a better place if we all lived God’s way and not man’s way.
(*Loving your enemies doesn’t mean you love the sin, there is a difference. As children of God we need to pray for our enemies and always speak the truth in love, while refusing to support or condone sin.)
Jesus talks about love and he says the law hangs on two commandments. The first one is to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind. The second one is to love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:36“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ 38“This is the great and foremost commandment. 39“The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ 40“On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
Matthew 5:43“You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ 44“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46“For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47“If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48“Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
"Before I Go"
When my life has reached its very end,
And I take that final breath;
I want to know I've left behind,
Some "good" before my death.
I hope that in my final hour,
In all honesty I can say:
That somewhere in my lifetime,
I have brightened someone's day.
That maybe I have brought a smile
To someone else's face,
And made one moment a little sweeter
While they dwelled here in this place.
Lord, please be my reminder
And whisper softly in my ear ...
To be a "giver," not a "taker,"
In the years I have left here.
Give to me the strength I need,
Open up my mind and my soul
That I might show sincere compassion,
And love to others before I go.
For if not a heart be touched by me,
And not a smile was left behind ...
Then the life that I am blessed with,
Will have been a waste of time.
With all my heart, I truly hope
To leave something here on earth ...
That touched another, made them smile
And gave to my life ... worth.
