Apologist Nabeel Qureshi Found Jesus

19 Sep

Christian apologist, Nabeel Qureshi, is resting with the Lord.

Nabeel Qureshi (1983-2017)

Nabeel Qureshi born in America was a devout Pakistani Muslin who shared his testimony in his first book published in 2014 called “Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus”. It became a New York Times best-seller and was awarded the Christian Book Award for both “Best New Author” and “Best Non-Fiction Book” of 2015. In March 2016 his second book was published, “Answering Jihad: A Better Way Forward” then five months later his third book came out “No God But One: Allah or Jesus? A Former Muslim Investigates the Evidence for Islam and Christianity.”

I would watch and listen to his videos and I was so inspired by his teachings that I even added a few to a blog called
Is Allah and The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob the Same God?

Why Nabeel Qureshi Questioned His Muslim Faith
http://cbn.com/tv/embedplayer.aspx?bcid=3945528870001

In 2014 tweeted~ “I left Islam because I studied Muhammad’s life. I accepted the Gospel because I studied Jesus’ life.”

Sadly Nabeel passed away September 16, 2017 after a year long battle with stomach cancer at the age of 34. He left behind his lovely wife and precious little daughter. His goal was not to condemn, but to see Muslims come to faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

This was Nabeel’s final video and he urged Christians not to use the truths he taught about Christianity and Islam as weapons. Nabeel said “When we talk to people about our beliefs, we should do it through a lens of love,”. I know he is in the loving hands of Jesus and my prayers are with his little daughter, wife, family and friends. May the Lord continue to use him to touch hearts and share the Lord’s truth.

Legalism vs. Grace

23 Sep

~Legalism vs. Grace~

Rick Atchley really puts some light on why there is so much division and a lack of unity in the Church of Christ. Let’s ask ourselves this question. When Scripture is silent, do we have freedom or prohibition? Is this Grace or Legalism? Please watch and see if this is not true. May Grace be with each and everyone of you!

LEGALISM KILLS ~ It leads to a Dead End

Legalism kills and that road leads to death!

Paul said in Galatians 5:1” It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”The purpose of the Fruit of the Spirit has set us free from sin by telling us how to avoid sinning. We grow and mature as Children of God by bearing the Fruit of the Spirit.

As Children of God it is important we pray and ask the Lord’s for His spiritual wisdom to help see the truth. Jesus Made Love Mandatory so when reading the written word it comes alive in the hearts of those filled with love. Jesus told us to walk in the Spirit of righteousness and that means having total trust and faith in him. Let the fruit of the spirit pour out and be a light for the Lord. If one is trapped in legalism it is very difficult to see any light in them. They are as D.U.C.K.S. under the Bed.

The acronym D.U.C.K.S. stands for “Devoted Unconditionally to Christ’s Kingdom and Service”. One may be “Devoted Unconditional the Christ’s Kingdom and Service” and know the written word like the back of their hand but something is missing and that is the Light! Legalism causes divisions among the Lord’s children. Legalism leads to unrighteous judgement, it causes a lack of compassion, humility, and mercy. Growing in the Lord is a journey, many of us will fall, having trials and tribulations. As long as we have Jesus as our ARK and are filled with His Fruit, we walk in the LIGHT.

Luke 8:16-17
“Now no one after lighting a lamp covers it over with a container, or PUTS IT UNDER A BED; but he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light. “For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.

When we walk in the spirit, the “FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT”
shines forth to other people,
like a lighthouse shines forth it’s light.

The acronym D.U.C.K.S. stands for
Devoted Unconditionally to Christ’s Kingdom and Service”.

~Calling All D.U.C.K.S. To Come Out From Under The Bed~

On a Personal Note~ I first want to say I love those in the Church of Christ and they hold a special place in my heart. The Lord took me out of an abusive situation and planted me in the church as a teen through my foster parents which I am so thankful for. I was taught that only those in the conservative Church of Christ would be saved. I never understood legalism till later in life. After leaving my foster home I soon left the church, got married and divorced, my ex’s use of porn was our down fall. Later I remarried and had 3 children. I returned to a more liberal Church of Christ and they welcomed our family with open arms. I learned the church was going to build a Fellowship Hall using church funds, being brought up in a conservative Church of Christ that was a no, no, and I felt I had to leave. I then went to a conservative Church of Christ much like the one I use to go to as a teen, I was so excited and felt I was home only to be short lived. When they learned I was remarried, they said my second marriage was adultery. A first divorce over porn was not considered adultery which meant I was never to marry again. They said the only way to repent was to divorce my second husband, there was No mercy. I could NOT be a member of the church while I was still married to my second husband. Well, the Lord opened my eyes and showed me I did not need to be a member of the Church of the Christ with walls, I was already a member of the body of Christ and there was NO walls. The Lord does NOT want His children living in Bondage! I pray eyes will be opened to the Truth!!!

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!”
John 8:36

How We Judge Others Will Be Measured Back To Us!

15 Jul

How We Measures Others Will Be Measured Back To Us!

We have principles in the written word!
The measure of how we judge others, how we give to others and we forgive others is measured back come judgment day.

Luke 6
37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned. 38 “Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”

Luke 17
3 “Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 “And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ forgive him.”
5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6 And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.
7 “Which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down to eat’? 8 “But will he not say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, and properly clothe yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; and afterward you may eat and drink’? 9 “He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he? 10 “So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’”

It is verse 10 where the principle comes in that I was talking about. Where we need to go the extra mile as Children of God. In verse 3 and 4 it is talking about forgiveness. It says if one repents we are to forgive, that is something we are commanded to do yet we are still unworthy slaves. We have only done what God expected of us as Children of God. Going the extra mile would be example: us forgiving and reaching out in love, offering them The Word. This is one of the principles, one of the mysteries of the word.

The principle applies again here with giving:

Matthew 5
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.’ 39 “But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 “If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also. 41 “Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 “Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.

The principle applies here concerning love:

Matthew 5
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ 44 “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 “For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 “If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 “Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Mark 4
24 And He was saying to them, “Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides.

Luke 6
27 “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 “Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either. 30 “Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. 31 “Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. 32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 “If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 “If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount. 35 “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. 36 “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

What Is It That Defiles Man?

What Is It That Defiles Man?

What Is It That Defiles Man?
In  Mark 7 that is where Jesus is talking to the Pharisees and Scribes. He tells them they are worshiping in vain. He says they honor him with their lips but their heart is far from HIM. They follow traditional teaching of doctrines, the way man perceives it. But Jesus makes it clear, what defiles man comes out of heart. Notice the things he mentions: evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness, Jesus shows the things that will defile man always comes from the heart. The good news is all sins are forgiven if we repent, and we have faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ, walking in righteousness.

The Good News!!!

Acts 13:32 “And we preach to you the GOOD NEWS of the promise made to the fathers, 33 that God has fulfilled this promise to our children in that He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, ‘YOU ARE MY SON; TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU.’ 34 As for the fact that He raised Him up from the dead, no longer to return to decay, He has spoken in this way: ‘I WILL GIVE YOU THE HOLY and SURE blessings OF DAVID.’ 35 “Therefore He also says in another Psalm, ‘YOU WILL NOT ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY.’ 36 “For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent decay; 37 but He whom God raised did not undergo decay. 38 “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39 and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses. 40 “Therefore take heed, so that the thing spoken of in the Prophets may not come upon you:

The whole law hangs on the 2 commandments Jesus said.
Matthew 22:
36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the great and first commandment.
39 And a second like `unto it’ is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40 On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.

Having a Thorn In Our Flesh Is A Blessing!!!

Having a Thorn In Our Flesh Is A Blessing!!!

Situations that would have most of us wanting to avoid, help our lives like no other experience. I know there are treasures to be found in our suffering. God allowed Satan to torment Paul for God’s own good purposes and always within God’s perfect will. What we do know about this thorn in the flesh comes from Paul himself in

2 Corinthians 12:7 “To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.

It was to keep Paul humble.

2 Corinthians 12:8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

We can see Paul wanted the thorn removed but the Lord knew what was best and allowed Paul to understand why he needed it.
Whether Paul’s ‘thorn’ was physical sickness or something else, it taught us a great lesson. Christ deviated the fiery dart with such precision that it punctured only that part of Paul that was in danger of bloating with pride. That dart crossed through the scarred hands of Jesus and entered Paul as a manifestation of divine love and wisdom.
Our scars are our testimonies to boost in the Lord and show glory to him.

Paul’s discomfort became necessary because the sin of pride loomed dangerously near.

2 Corinthians 12:1-7
We can learn pride is not something the Lord desires for his Children. It is important we have a humble heart. Pruning Is the way the Lord molds us to serve his purpose for our lives.
We need to be thankful for our thorns!!!

Romans 8:18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

Wishing Great Blessings To Each and Everyone of YOU!

THE WRITTEN WORD MEANS NOTHING WITHOUT LOVE!

2 Jun

Jesus Made Love Mandatory

THE WRITTEN WORD MEANS NOTHING WITHOUT LOVE!

When we use the written word it must be submersed with love in order to help us see the truth.

The word comes alive in the hearts of man filled with love!

James 2:13
For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.

If we use the written word without love we are worshiping in vain!

Matthew 22: 36-40

Jesus tells us know love is the greatest commandment. We are to love him and others. Without love we have nothing.
Without Love means there is N0 mercy or forgiveness. It causes division, it breaks up families, it is always judging others and casting stones.
We are to be the lights of the world and walk in the Spirit!
Having a heart filled with the fruit of the Spirit, allowing  it to  pour out on others.

Galatians 5
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

A heart filled with love has No room for hate!

Finding Unity Among Children of God!

22 May

Where is the One True Church?

The one true Church has no walls.  The written word is inspired by the Holy Spirit, yet we have many interpretations of the written word which causes many divisions among the Lord’s children. What happens is, many of us believe a certain way and we desire to show others the truth because we believe we know the truth and others are misinterpreting the word.  So what do we do? As children of God we try to show others how their interpretation is false and what is correct, while they are trying to show us how we are wrong. Have you ever seen Children of God get ugly with one another over interpretations and not seeing the sin in how they are treating one another? I believe one of God’s hidden mysteries is here and we will only see this as we come closer to being transformed into the perfect. Many see these different interpretations as false doctrine. But if we could rise above and see things from the Lord’s eyes using his spiritual wisdom not the wisdom of man, many of these interpretations that divide Children of God have nothing to do with our salvation.
The Lord is concerned with our hearts and motives. How are we are treating one another?  Are we fighting over what we believe is truth and hurting each other? The Lord warns us not to devour one another. Is our love genuine for HIM and others? I believe the Lord was well aware of the fact we would not agree on every interpretation of the written word, but in order to find perfect unity he knew we must rise above that. If our heart is truly filled with the attributes of the fruit of the Spirit and we are seeing through HIS eyes we will begin to come together through Love which brings about UNITY which is found only in HIM! That is why he said the whole Law can be summed up in one word LOVE! He says in loving him and others we fulfill the Law.

The Lord teaches, what defiles man comes from the heart and when Jesus spoke on the sermon on the mount everything he spoke of had to do with man’s heart. So if our heart is filled with Love there is no room for the things that defile us, like immorality, impurity, sensuality,  idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these. The one true church is found in the hearts of the “called out”! Those walking in righteousness through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!

Galatians 5
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
Colossians 3:12-17
So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

Can a Saved Man Fall From Grace?

18 May

Can a Saved Man Fall From Grace?

The term “fallen from grace” is only used *one time* in the Bible.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; YE ARE FALLEN FROM GRACE” Galatians 5:1-4.

So to be fallen from grace is to be “justified by the law”

In other words, those who attempt to earn their justification by the works of the law are “fallen from grace”.  Today we have Modern Day Pharisees in the church. This comic strip would be funny if it were not true.

Click on picture to read the words more clearly.

Justification was reckoned to us by Christ’s sacrifice at the cross. It is a gift of grace. Those who “work” for justification fail to realize the greatness of what Jesus accomplished, thus his accomplishment becomes of “no effect” to them.  They have fallen from grace! You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, 2 Peter 3:17. What happens when one falls from grace? One falls into law observance. One become a legalists. Christians lose their grip on grace whenever they fall prey to the teachings of legalism. Legalists robs the Christians of their liberty. Legalists do not live by the Spirit, but by rules and regulations. One is bound to laws and traditions instead of walking by faith in Christ. We are to walk in the Spirit of righteousness! We are to have hearts filled with the fruit of the Spirit.
Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
When we are walking in the Spirit then we have the desire to want to please the Lord. Some believe this liberty is a means to sin but it isn’t.
If we are filled with the fruit of the Spirit our thirst will be for righteousness. We may get tempted but the Lord will never give us more than we can bear.

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.  1 Corinthians 10:13

We all fall short of the glory of God and no one is perfect but we want to do our best to try and please HIM. This comes from our heart because of our Love for HIM! Legalism gives a false sense of security, it chokes the Christ-life out of the believer. It causes us to lack love and cast stones at our bothers and sisters in Christ. When we are trapped in legalism is causes one to become self-righteous not allowing us to see our own sins because we are blind by the BIG LOG in our own eyes. If we have called on the Lord but are also trusting in our good works to get us into Heaven, then we are not truly trusting Christ. We won’t get into Heaven any other way than through the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son. We Must Love HIM and others! Jesus made LOVE  Mandatory.

Matthew 22:37 And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ 38 “This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 “The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ 40 “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

I want to add, faith without works is dead but we are not doing it for justification, we do it because we love the Lord and we love one another! It comes from the heart to help others not because we are working to win our way to heaven. Legalism keeps one bound up in the system of men and men’s expectations as opposed to God.
The Lord does not want his children living in bondage!!!
God Bless Each and Everyone of you!
