I AM

17 Feb

Jesus Is "I AM"

“I AM”
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.

Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”

In John 8:58 Jesus tells the Jews “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM.” After Jesus says he is “I AM” the Jews become angry and try to stone Him.

Then we read in John 10:30 Jesus said, “I and My Father are one.” “The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God” They clearly understood that Jesus claimed to be God.

The Bible says that Jesus is God in flesh, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God . . . and the word became flesh and dwelt among us,” (John 1:1, 14); and, “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,” (Col. 2:9). Jesus, therefore, has two natures. He is both God and man.

Jesus is completely human, but He also has a divine nature.

GOD

He is worshiped (Matt. 2:2, 11; 14:33; 28:9)
He is prayed to (Acts 7:59; 1 Cor. 1:2)
He was called God (John 20:28; Heb. 1:8)
He was called Son of God (Mark 1:1)
He is sinless (1 Pet. 2:22; Heb. 4:15)
He knew all things (John 21:17)
He gives eternal life (John 10:28; 17:2)
The fullness of deity dwells in Him (Col. 2:9)

Man

He worshiped the Father (John 17)
He prayed to the Father (John 17:1)
He was called man (Mark 15:39; John 19:5).
He was called Son of Man (John 9:35-37)
He was tempted (Matt. 4:1)
He grew in wisdom (Luke 2:52)
He died (Rom. 5:8)
He has a body of flesh and bones (Luke 24:39)

As a man, Jesus needed to pray. When He was praying, he was not praying to Himself but to God the Father.

Joy, Happiness, and Thankfulness

Joy, Happiness, and Thankfulness

Joy is not the absence of afflictions,

but having the Lord’s comfort to deal with them.”

Happiness is not found in our material belongings,

but found in our personal relationship with the Lord.”

Thankfulness is not having what you want,
but being content with what you have.”
2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
5 For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.
6 But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are
comforted, it is for your comfort, which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer;
7 and our hope for you is firmly grounded, knowing that as you are sharers of our
sufferings, so also you are sharers of our comfort.
Matthew 6:25 “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what
you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body,
as to what you
will put on.
Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
26 “Look at the birds of the air, that they do not
sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds
them. Are you not worth much more than they?
27 “Andwho of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?
28 “And why are you worried about clothing?
Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,
29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all
his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 “But if
God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow
is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You
of little faith! 31 “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’
or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’
32 “For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these
things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 “But seek first His kingdom and His
righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Was Jesus God in the Flesh?

5 Mar
Was Jesus God in the Flesh?
Did Jesus ever say “I am God” in those exact words? The answer lays in what He did say and how the Jews responded to His words. In John 10:30, Jesus said, “I and My Father are one.” “The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God” John 10:33. They clearly understood that Jesus claimed to be God.

Jesus knew he was God. In John 8:58 Jesus tells the Jews “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM.” After Jesus says he is “I AM” the Jews become angry and try to stone Him. Again the Jews understood Jesus proclaimed to be God.

Jesus God In The Flesh
1 John 5:20
And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

We are in His Son Jesus Christ the true God and eternal life.

We are in Him who is true.

We are in His Son Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal Life.

JOHN 3:16
– For God so loved the world, that He gave His ONLY begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him (JESUS) shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Eternal Life comes by believing In (JESUS the true God).

After Jesus was crucified,Thomas His Apostle wanted proof He had risen~

John 20: 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples were saying to him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them,
“Unless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
26 After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.” 28 Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.

Jesus never denied being God when Thomas called Him “my Lord and my God”

Lets examine John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.
Then go to John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. So we have the Word which is God, then the Word becomes flesh. The flesh is Jesus, the flesh is God, Jesus Is God in the flesh.
The Word teaches us that Jesus was born of a virgin and conceived by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus was both God and man!

Conception and Birth of Jesus

Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. 19 And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. 20 But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” 22 Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: 23 “BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” which translated means, “GOD WITH US.” 24 And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, 25 but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus.
Philippians 2:5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Concerning the Trinity!
Luke 1:37 “For nothing will be impossible with God. There is the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are each equally and eternally the ONE true God.
Here is an Analogy I like to use~
It is like H2O in three different forms: water is the liquid form of H2O, ice is the solid form of H2O, steam is the gas of H2O. They are All H2O.
I pray this helps for a greater understanding.
May Grace Be with Each of You!

Losing A Loved One to Suicide~

11 Jul

Loss of a loved one to suicide.

Now Comes THE QUESTION Many Have Asked Me~

Some question rather one can be saved if one takes their own life. God would never cause one to do that, but he would allow Satan too. Sin allows Satan in, but Jesus died for our sins. I know the pain of losing a loved one very well, and it leaves those left behind feeling lost and trying to understand why it happened. In 2006, I felt like I was having a nightmare only I could not wake up from it. My daughter’s boyfriend (Sammy) took his own life. Without question it was the worst pain I ever endured. What magnified the pain was some Christians telling me he was condemned to Hell. I cried and prayed to the Lord. I was so concerned over Sammy’s spirit, asking the Lord for HIS answer. I prayed for the Lord’s spiritual wisdom and one day after going on a jog and praying (what I like to refer to as a spiritual run) asking the Lord to help me, God answered my prayer. I came home and just opened my bible, and it seemed to come alive as a scripture popped out at me. 1 Corinthians 5:5 “I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the Destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.” It was the answer I hoped for and God gave me an immediate peace and understanding. Sammy had a such a caring heart. I know he knew Jesus. GOD WARNS US OF JUDGING OTHERS. We have NO right to condemn one to Hell because God is merciful. It is HIS job to judge, and our job is to love each other and share God’s word.

God says in Matthew 7:1-2 “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”

“Remember this, God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those called according to HIS purpose.” Romans 8:28 The Lord used Sammy in my life, HE turned it into a way to serve HIS purpose and help others. The Lord showed me how Sammy was going to reach hearts and share God’s word. The Lord knew how much Sammy loved helping people. He knew how Sammy wanted to be a life-guard because he wanted to save lives. He knew Sammy’s heart. He had a bigger plan for Sammy. God could have stopped Satan, but God had a plan. God sees the big puzzle while we only see pieces of it. When all the pieces come together then we will see the full picture. In John 11:25-26 Jesus said. “The man who believes in me will live even though he dies, and anyone who is alive and believes in me will never die at all. We never know what God has in store for us. God is patient with us. Just know God never makes mistakes, it is just our lack of understanding. Ask Jesus to show you the way!

~When Life Becomes Too Much~

When life becomes too much to bear
With only pain in sight…
Some folks make the choice to die,
By taking their own life. In just one moment, all is lost,
And nothing can replace…
The broken hearts of loved ones dear,
Or the tears that stain their face.

Yet somehow they get through it,
With the grace of God, they do…
Time can heal the deepest wound,
and bring new peace to you. You’ll never know the reason

And it’s not for you to say…

But God responds to every need; Just trust He’ll make a way.

~Remember The Love I Gave~

Don’t judge me for how I left this world,
remember the love that I gave.
A lot of grief will follow me,
for the decision that I have made.

Changes appear in everyone’s life,
some good, some bad.
The one that I chose for myself
made everyone very sad.

But in time, memories will heal the hurt of hearts
and my presence will be felt by all with an inner peace.
Remember me when the sun is bright and laughter fills the air,
and a moonlit night and whispers of wind
will tell you that I am there.

Don’t look down on my family
or fill their hearts with blame.
For my leaving them without good-byes,
they will never be the same.

If I could go back in time, I say a last good-bye,
I’d tell them to look to tomorrow
and for me……do not cry……

Those Who Have Lost a Loved One to Suicide

Sammy Flores Jr.

Sammy Flores Jr~ April 20, 1987 – May 6, 2006
I pray for all those who have lost a loved one to suicide. It is never easy for those left behind. The only way to truly find any comfort is through our precious Lord.  Praying for all of Sammy’s family and friends.
RIP Sammy, you live on in the hearts of all those who loved and knew you!

~Sammy Lives On~

Sammy helped me to see things more clearly. We can’t always choose the situations that life brings us, but we can choose the attitude we will use to face them. The best way to stop worrying or to receive comfort is to start praying. But God may not give us comfort if it keeps us from doing what he wants us to do. Learn from the mistakes of others. We will never live long enough to make them all ourselves. Pray for people who dislike you. Whenever you feel insignificant, remember how important you are to God. Encourage each other and build each other up. A word spoken in anger cannot be erased. It plays over and over again. Walk on soles, not on souls. Be generous with praise and stingy with criticism. To belittle is to be little. And remember what happens in us is more important than what happens to us.

A Little Tribute

A little tribute true and tender,
Just to show that we remember,
Time may pass and fade away,
But memories of you will always stay!

Missing someone get’s easier everyday,
Because even though it is one day further
from the last time you saw each other
it’s one day closer to the next time you will!

Gain and loss, birth and death
are in the hands of God!

IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO FORGIVE!

30 Jun

It is never to Late to Forgive.
Even if it has been 35 Years AGO!

A day of fasting and prayer was all I needed to see what the Holy Spirit wanted me to do. The day after Thanksgiving, November 23, 2007 I spend fasting and praying. The days following, the Holy Spirit was putting things in my heart that he wanted me to do, finding my stepmother was one of those things.  See it had been 35 years since I had seen her and I didn’t even know if she was still alive. I knew if she was, she would be 76 years old. I did a people search for her and found where she had last lived in 2005 so I decided to take the two hour drive and see if I could find her. I located her home, there was a little hanging basket with magazines with her name on them but no one was at home.

So then I drove to the address where I believed my stepsister lived. Again no one was home. I just knew the Lord wouldn’t put this in my heart for no reason so I was not ready to give up. I drove back to the little house of my stepmother and this time the magazines were gone, so I knew someone had been there. Again I went to the door but no one was home. I even went up to a couple of the neighbor’s doors but no one knew her. So I drove back to the house that I believed to be my stepsister’s and this time I saw another vehicle in the driveway. I went back to the door, but no one answered. I decided to try the back door and my stepsister came out. She had no idea who I was but I knew it was her. I told her who I was and she looked shocked to see me after all these years. I asked her where my stepmother was and she told me she was in ICU, she told me she had had a heart attack the day before Thanksgiving. I told my stepsister the Lord had put it in my heart to come visit my stepmother and let her know I had forgiven her and my father for all that happened to me when I was a teen. What surprised me was to find out my stepsister had no idea about the sexual abuse that was going on during my teen years. No one had ever told her anything about it, (she is about 3 years older than I am). Our conversation was very limited and I believe the Lord wanted it that way with the timing of my visit! I felt I shouldn’t mention anything to her about the verbal abuse of my stepmother. The Lord knew the perfect timing for me to go so I wouldn’t say too much but I did leave with her an audio bible and player to give my stepmother. I went to the hospital and was able to visit with my stepmother for a few minutes. I let her know the Lord loves her and that I have forgiven her and my father. I still have the memories and the scars, but my wounds are healed. One thing I have learned is not to hide our scars, but use them to glory the Lord.

The Lord can turn anything into a blessing if we trust him! Our scars are our testimonies.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

UPDATE~ On September 23, 2010 two years and 10 months from the date of that visit my stepmother passed away. Whether she turned to the Lord I do not know but I do know it was the Lord’s will that I forgave her.

A HEART FILLED WITH LOVE HAS NO ROOM FOR HATE

6 Jun

A HEART FILLED WITH LOVE HAS NO ROOM FOR HATE

The bible says God is love. In Matthew 5:44 God tells us to love our enemy, In Matthew 22:39 He tells us to love our neighbor as our self. So say you were abused, molested, or raped how should be towards that person? I will tell you man’s way is not the way of God. Man’s way would show hatred and wish the worst on that person for hurting us. But is that how God wants us to be? Nowhere in the bible does God show us these actions are of him. He tells us to have love and compassion, pray for those who hurt you. The best example is Jesus on the cross praying to God for those who harmed him, asking God to forgive them for they know not what they do. Should we be any different? Allow God and the justice system handle it. What about people who are gay, of another religious group, or race? Does that give us a right to hate someone because they believe differently or because they are of another color? Not according to the bible, it says to love your enemy. I don’t see where it gives any exceptions. If we are holding hatred in our heart, it isn’t of God.  I believe this world would be a better place if we all lived God’s way and not man’s way.

(*Loving your enemies doesn’t mean you love the sin, there is a difference. As children of God we need to pray for our enemies and always speak the truth in love, while  refusing to support or condone sin.)

Jesus talks about love and he says the law hangs on two commandments. The first one is to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind. The second one is to love your neighbor as yourself.

Matthew 22:36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ 38 “This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 “The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ 40 “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

Matthew 5:43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ 44 “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 “For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 “If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 “Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Pray And Ask God For HIS Spiritual Wisdom~

23 May

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5

We  all need to pray and ask God for HIS spiritual wisdom because without it there is no way of understanding God’s will for our lives. It is so important to trust the Lord even when tragedy happen in our lives. Look to the story of Job who was a righteous man of God, yet he endured much suffering. He lost his wealth, his seven children and was inflicted with painful boils. Job knew everything he had was really God’s belongings, but he lacked in God’s wisdom and knowledge. Later in the story God shows Job things that are so complex that the human mind can No way understand. Job came to realize it wasn’t his place to question why these things were happening but having complete faith in HIM. Trust in God and remember HIS promise. James 1:12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Remember we are to serve God, not the other way around. As Christians it is easy to serve HIM when everything is going good, but what happens when tribulation comes along. Are we hypocritical and turn our back on God, saying how could you let this terrible thing happen. We must trust our God through the good and the bad,  he is wiser than we. We need to understand HIS wisdom is out of this world. Nothing on this Earth is ours, everything belongs to the Lord. Remember to ask the Lord for direction and to show you HIS purpose for your life!

God Bless All Of You!

Finding Unity Among Children of God!

22 May

Where is the One True Church?

The one true Church has no walls.  The written word is inspired by the Holy Spirit, yet we have many interpretations of the written word which causes many divisions among the Lord’s children. What happens is, many of us believe a certain way and we desire to show others the truth because we believe we know the truth and others are misinterpreting the word.  So what do we do? As children of God we try to show others how their interpretation is false and what is correct, while they are trying to show us how we are wrong. Have you ever seen Children of God get ugly with one another over interpretations and not seeing the sin in how they are treating one another? I believe one of God’s hidden mysteries is here and we will only see this as we come closer to being transformed into the perfect. Many see these different interpretations as false doctrine. But if we could rise above and see things from the Lord’s eyes using his spiritual wisdom not the wisdom of man, many of these interpretations that divide Children of God have nothing to do with our salvation.
The Lord is concerned with our hearts and motives. How are we are treating one another?  Are we fighting over what we believe is truth and hurting each other? The Lord warns us not to devour one another. Is our love genuine for HIM and others? I believe the Lord was well aware of the fact we would not agree on every interpretation of the written word, but in order to find perfect unity he knew we must rise above that. If our heart is truly filled with the attributes of the fruit of the Spirit and we are seeing through HIS eyes we will begin to come together through Love which brings about UNITY which is found only in HIM! That is why he said the whole Law can be summed up in one word LOVE! He says in loving him and others we fulfill the Law.

The Lord teaches, what defiles man comes from the heart and when Jesus spoke on the sermon on the mount everything he spoke of had to do with man’s heart. So if our heart is filled with Love there is no room for the things that defile us, like immorality, impurity, sensuality,  idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these. The one true church is found in the hearts of the “called out”! Those walking in righteousness through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!

Galatians 5
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
Colossians 3:12-17
So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
