Amy McCutcheon’s Testimony~

Amy's testimony "Jesus is My Mother"

This is one of Amy McCutcheon’s graphics of Jesus called “Beloved”. Sadly Amy passed away Sept. 4, 2010 at the age of 53. She inspired so many of us with her beautiful heart and her art.

On Dec. 31, 2008 Amy shared her testimony in a Myspace group.  Amy’s testimony of her faith in Jesus Christ touched my heart deeply when I first heard it. The love and comfort that she found in Him was so evident. I pray that her testimony will reach those who need to hear it and that they will find the same hope and peace that she did.

Amy’s testimony “Jesus Is My Mother”

“When I was a little baby I lost my mom most likely due to suicide. Having three children under the age of five and a son who only lived twenty-four hours, she had postpartum depression and was found floating dead in the creek outside my grandmother’s house at the age of twenty-seven. I was told when I was a child that it was most likely suicide and not an accidental slip that caused her death. Over the years my aunts have argued as to whether or not her death was a suicide but in any case I didn’t have a mom growing up. My dad was an absentee father. He worked on the tugs in NYC and when he was home he would drink a lot. I share this so you will understand how I came to discover a very important aspect about Christ. When I decided that I wanted to know the Lord in a more personal way one of the things I began to experience is the “mothering” of Christ. I had always denied the importance of having a mother. I concluded I didn’t miss what I never had. I didn’t understand the importance of bonding, touch and affection that a mother gives to her child. God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit has both masculine and feminine attributes since God is spirit. God made male and female in His own image. That’s right in the book of Genesis.”

“Therefore Jesus is all these things to the soul who loves Him. He is a Brother, Friend, Savior, Teacher, Bridegroom, Father and Mother. There is no greater example of Jesus being a Mother to the soul than Him nourishing us with His own body and blood in addition to Christ birthing the Church through blood and water from His side. Therefore those of us who feel that Christ cannot feel our sorrows, pains, loneliness, fears could realize we CAN approach Him with all confidence knowing that being close to him causes us to grow into spiritual maturity desiring the food that Jesus offers instead of the food that causes us harm. Jesus died for us, nourishes his children with his own body and blood. He feeds us spiritually with His own body and blood much like a mother feeds her children breast milk. “How often I have long to gather you like a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings.” the Gospel of Luke. Here Jesus shows us His wounded bosom from which flows every good nutrient for our souls….. I have known Jesus as both a Father and a Mother. Jesus ministered to me throughout my life.”

“The Lord said to His own disciples “who is my mother, father, sister, brother but ALL those who do my Father’s will.” If Jesus doesn’t have a problem calling us these things, why would He have a problem, calling Him our Mother?” Jesus is my Brother, Friend, Savior, King, Lord, Father and I have also known Him as My Mother. He was there for me when no one else was.”

Matthew 12: 46 While He was still speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him. 47 Someone said to Him, “Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside seeking to speak to You.” 48 But Jesus answered the one who was telling Him and said, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” 49 And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, “Behold My mother and My brothers! 50 “For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother.”

The Marriage Cup of Yeshua by Amy McCutcheon“The Marriage Cup of Yeshua”~ by Amy McCutcheon

The Jewish male seeks his Bride. offering her a cup of wine just as Yeshua did during the Last Supper. The prayer shawl (Talith) is sometimes used in a Jewish weddings as a covering over the bride and groom or worn on the head of the bridegroom. So in the painting the prayer shawl draped over the cup is very significant as it speaks of our covering, the Bridegroom Yeshua. He paid the price for His Bride a cup filled with His own precious blood. A Cup filled with HIS LOVE!

How We Judge Others Will Be Measured Back To Us!

How We Measures Others Will Be Measured Back To Us!

We have principles in the written word!
The measure of how we judge others, how we give to others and we forgive others is measured back come judgment day.

Luke 6
37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned. 38 “Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”

Luke 17
3 “Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 “And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ forgive him.”
5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6 And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.
7 “Which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down to eat’? 8 “But will he not say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, and properly clothe yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; and afterward you may eat and drink’? 9 “He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he? 10 “So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’”

It is verse 10 where the principle comes in that I was talking about. Where we need to go the extra mile as Children of God. In verse 3 and 4 it is talking about forgiveness. It says if one repents we are to forgive, that is something we are commanded to do yet we are still unworthy slaves. We have only done what God expected of us as Children of God. Going the extra mile would be example: us forgiving and reaching out in love, offering them The Word. This is one of the principles, one of the mysteries of the word.

The principle applies again here with giving:

Matthew 5
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.’ 39 “But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 “If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also. 41 “Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 “Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.

The principle applies here concerning love:

Matthew 5
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ 44 “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 “For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 “If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 “Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Mark 4
24 And He was saying to them, “Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides.

Luke 6
27 “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 “Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either. 30 “Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. 31 “Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. 32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 “If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 “If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount. 35 “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. 36 “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
